Contessa Brewer doesn't have a law degree.  So perhaps the MSNBC host was unaware of the old cross-examination adage: never ask a question to which you don't know the answer.

Arguing with Rep. Mo Brooks today over raising the debt ceiling, Brewer attempted to discredit the Tea Party Republican freshman Member of Congress from Alabama by asking "do you have a degree in economics?"

"Yes, ma'am, I do.  Highest honors," [from Duke] answered the courtly congressman.  Ruh-roh!  Hat tip NB readers CWH and Felix B.

Have a chuckle as Contessa gets hoist by her own petard.  You'll notice that by the end of the interview, an abashed Brewer is thanking Brooks for his "expertise."

I have a question.........

Has it never occurred to all of the socialists that are running the country into the ground with their reckless spending, that when the bottom falls out on the dollar, and it becomes worthless, that it doesn't matter how much money you have, it's still just going to be worthless paper, and they will be no better off than the rest of us? I mean logically, if the economy completely collapses, it won't matter what kind of hard assets you have, (i.e. gold, silver) There will be no one producing anything, so all you're stolen money (stolen from the american taxpayer) isn't going to do a thing for you.

Bottom line....Are they really THAT arrogant to think that they are immune to the collapse of the U.S. dollar?

Not arrogant. Short sighted. They never think it through that far. It shows in everything they do.
Look at gun control, "just pass a law and all that nasty gun crime goes away" except for the people who say f*ck the law, or use knives.
But they don't follow the thought past "Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farm" they are to shallow.
