On Facebook, as many of us have, I have requested to be friends with a wide variety of industry people, and usually enjoy seeing their posts and keeping up with their businesses. James Yaeger was one of them.
Two days ago, he posted something about the success of Tactical Response on FB, along the lines of he has surpassed last year's total class attendance (IIRC) already this year, and that his new store was going gangbusters. And then he said something like - "suck it haters!" I can't be precise about the verbiage, see below as to why.
I posted congratulations on the success, and then suggested that he may want to avoid the "haters" label, as that is usually bandied about by thoughtless libtards who can't clearly express themselves. Next thing I know, James de-friended me on FB!
Disclosure: I believe I bought some of James' Tactical Response gear a while back, and if it is the gear I am thinking of, it looks like good gear. I have not taken his training, though.
For those who may not remember James, he has a series of videos on YouTube. He is also the guy whose school allowed a photographer to squat next to a target while a shooter was shooting the target inches from the photographer. He was also the guy teaching the class recently when a student shot himself in the foot in what Rob Pincus labeled "fake transition" training, i.e., transition from long gun to sidearm for no reason other than told to do it, requiring an extra motion to put the long gun on safe. The student did not do this or do it correctly. According to Rob's post, Rob's training uses "real" (my word) transitions when the long gun goes dry or malfunctions only, never the "fake transition" training.
