I admire the test and record of flat out abuse.

If I could afford it, I would try it with an M&P. But I think you set the bar very high with the potting soil and salt water and baby powder, oh and dropping it from an airplane,...

Maybe I'll just take my last purchase permit to the gun show this weekend and get a Glock.

Awesome post, would love to see a video.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

That wasn't a test. That was abuse.

If I recall, I think the M1911 stood up to similar abuse in Army testing. And, I think there was a TV program sometime ago that they similarly abused a SIG. I know they dropped the SIG from a Helicopter and drove over it with a 5T Army truck.

I would like to see some nice chrome 1911's do that test. Just to see what would happen. I would never do that to any of my guns..because of cherish them too much. And most people never would with theirs either. Most any gun will do good and last if you take care of it.. But, being a Glock owner.. I do take pride in the findings of that and many other tests where Glocks are so tuff.

Thats just one of countless examples out here...... They are definitely rugged guns.

There are a bunch of good torture test videos on YouTube. Here is one where they drop a SIG 226 out of a helicopter onto cement:

Didn't like the .40. The G21 was too big for my hand, even the newer model. The 17 and 19

Try the 36.  It's narrower than my 1911 and about the size of an Officer's model.  I put TruGlo TFOs on it and it fits in the front pants pocket almost as well as my J frame.  I've got a 19 that I use for practice as 9mm white box is cheaper than 45.  They are almost the same size and use the same holsters, etc.  The 19 is just a little fatter in the butt.

Think about the one that starts with a 4  ;D as in .40 or .45

Is still land of free.  Besides, Glocks were designed around the 9mm's.

Not even all Glocks can do that. ;)

Glocks have stumbled a bit here and there too.

USMC got poor reliability when they tested the G21 in the early 90s (about 230 MRBF IIRC).

Two of the six 40s the FBI tested in the late 90s broke under 20K rounds. Only had to make it to 10K to pass, so they were good enough to issue.

Only Glocks to pass all the tests in all models were the 9s when the DHS tested guns in 2004.

Indianna State Police had so many probs w their Glock 40s they dumped 'em for Glock 9s.

Local deputies broke 4 of 230 new Glock 40s in the first 250 rounds through 'em...

Buddy in the German Polizei says the Glocks are tough, but not as tough as their HKs (USPc, P2000, P30).

Still, seems Glock is Borg: resistance is futile. I can remember when NYPD, CPD, and the FBI thought they were inferior and/or too dangerous for use; now they all issue them.

lets not forget that for along glocks were by far the cheapest( that actually worked) thing a LE agency could get thier hands on.  That played a large role in the selection of glocks as a issue weapon for alot of agencys.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
