It's a scam, we are being played....and have been, for a while, by both parties......Yet we wait until we are granted the chance to exercise our "right" to vote...Hoping for something better.....or the lesser of two evils,.....

I don't have my $46,000 worth:'(  I hope Asian countries have started treating prisoners nicer than they did in WWII.   :'( :'( :'(

And the worst part is, I can't remember what I got for my $46K!  Property in Afganistan?  :(

Minimum monthly payments, just like on the credit cards.

Here is what I'm not getting. Every time I turn on the radio or TV, all I hear is how if the debt ceiling isn't raised, we're in a lot of trouble. As much as 50% of the Federal Government will have to be shut down, and the employees laid off. OK, how is this a problem? I'm seeing it as a solution. All we hear is how everyone is barking and crying for smaller government. Now is your chance to get it real easy. Starve the bastards out. Do you think they are going to quit and go home on their own?

So they close the Department Of Education, and lay off all the workers. What do we lose? Those imbeciles couldn't teach a German Shepherd how to sit. Same with the FAA. ATC and the pilots will still show up. Who else do you need to get the nose and wheels up? Hussein has over sold the "importance" of this whole thing. What these clowns better start worrying about is how after we send these morons home, just how little everyone will miss them, along with what they "do" for a living. Perhaps it's time these people pick up a Sunday paper and look for a real job.  Bill T.

I like the way you think!!!

I see something like this.  Pay per view.  10 over paid lazy office workers, 1 Remaining government job.  CAGE MATCH!  ONLY ONE WALKS OUT ALIVE / employed!  ;D  You know how much money the gov. could make off that?

Remember Caesar and his gladiators?

"I'd buy that for a dollar!"  ;)

That is the minimum payment to avoid default.  In the "crisis" situation, that is all we are obligated to pay.

Can someone tell me how many times the "debt ceiling" has been raised in say the past twenty years? I heard this am that it was raised several times during the last administration. Any one know where I can verify that?

Pecos, who's thinking we need to fire the whole bunch in D. C. and start over.

yeah, the same gang that got the country into this mess is now wringing their hands and telling us how much we are gonna need to sacrifice to get us out of it.

Step 1.  Suspend payments of any type to congress critters and their staff until the budget is balanced and a surplus is great enough to allow their payments again.  Make sure the last thing to come out of the budget is their pay and that will be nothing if there is not black ink after that payment.

Can't tell how many times, but it's been happening since carter was in office. Seems to occur far more often with dem congress.
