When was that report recorded? Just for my own reference.
Minnesota may be liberal, but not in my little sevn and a half acre world! In small town America it is not possible to hide that you are a gun person. We shoot at the local trap range, we hunt, we teach firearm safety, and we compete at all levels. People just know.
Two years ago, about this time of year, while teaching firearms safety a father came up to me. His son was in the class, and dad is our neighborhood meth cooker. They live two and a half miles by road or a mile and three quarter as the crow flys from us. He came up, put his arm around my shoulder, and told me that he would leave me alone if I promised not to hurt him or shoot him. I grabbed his shoulders with both hands and told him that if he even threatened anyone in our neighborhood I would put one right between his eyes, and he new damn good and well I could do it from five feet or five hundred yards!
Last summer he was driving home in his used ambulance that he uses for a service truck and broke down at the end of our driveway. I saw lights from the family room as they pushed it onto our yard next to the grainary. As I observed the situation I told the wife to be ready to call 911 for any reason what so ever and told her why. The front light went on (motion sensor), the doorbell rang, I identified him through the window, and I greeted him at the door with my hand on my 1911. He wanted me to know what was going on, and that it would be gone by morning. I explained it would be there in the morning, and that he could come back between 6:30 am and 7:30 am to tow it off. An hour later he was back with a different truck, and before it was off the end of the driveway he was met by two deputies. The deputies asked him if he had misunderstood my rules, and then they proceded to tell him how lucky he was I called 911. They then escorted him to his place with all vehicles in tow.
Long way to get to my belief that if they wish to come legally I have no problem. If they wish to have a small family or circle culture, that is fine. However, this is the United States of America! Blend or leave! Remeber the saying about us taking in everyone and being a melting pot (changing with every group that comes)? That was the damn French that wrote that and gave it to us!
If I can't be Christian in our governmental system, I damn sure am not going to follow your Muslim laws

We have Samolis in the next town due to their employment at a beef packer. So far they fly below the radar, but from time to time there is a little stir over their customs. Our two largest problems have been the typical white long time residents like my buddy next door, and SE Asian community members that brought some gang influence in. Another story there for another time. Most people are good and decent, but awarenss and caution is always important. I guess now that we have hung the open sign back on our governmental office doors we will have to watch out for this kind of crap.
