HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!  For that price your gonna have to buy it and let me borrow it once in a while to see what it's like Tom!   

Parts I ordered for my plastic fantastic didn't come today (everythings slower in the South! ), so I tore it all apart and polished everything that was bare metal to the point that you have to squint your eyes to be in the same room with it.

The stripped slide goes for $260 on their web site ($170 for a similar slide at Lone Wolf, but this one is advertised as being much more better  ).  It is not relieved for the red dot sight they use and still bare stainless.

The red dot model they use goes for $604 on their site.

A stainless threaded barrel with thread protector, both black oxide treated, at Lone Wolf is $155.

Lightning Strike Titanium striker and striker safety from Lone Wolf along with other misc. slide parts,  $250.

Relieve slide for red dot....   $100?

Cerecote slide  $150?

So, that price is not out of reason, if that is something you want.   Also, from the advertisement, I suspect the parts I listed might be of lesser quality than those hyped in the ad.

That may be true Solus. But at the end of the day its a freaking Glock. You know what will make it more accurate? Practice! And you can buy a whole assload of range time for a lot less than $1500. Again a mechanical solution to a training problem. I wish the guys who market this well, as they are parting fools from their money, but if you want an accurate Glock, shoot the damn thing often and invest in instruction if you need it.Rant over.

Again a mechanical solution to a training problem. NP with the rant...as long as it wasn't at me.

I'd not buy that item, nor would I recommend it.   Although I like the "thought" of a red dot sight on an SD pistol, I can never find an installation that doesn't seem so unwieldy.  And threads on a SD gun?  I don't see the need for a suppressor or a muzzle device for that application.   And no matter what they say, I just don't think any finish they put on that slide is going to outperform the original  Tenifer finish.  And all that talk about extreme tolerances?   Like you said, it's a Glock.  Reliability is unquestioned and, as you would say, accuracy is MOBadGuy.

I was just pricing the components and if those are the parts you want, it is not an unreasonable price.

But, $600 for the red dot?   Get a laser for $250 and have an alternative to iron sights that adds much more flexibility to your target acquisition options than the red dot.

You practice in any position where you cannot use the sights at, say, 15 yards.  Get as good as you can.

I'll use a laser at the same range and position and we will see who can be most accurate.  Then we can try it while moving?

I agree with you 100%.  I do think there are a lot of people that have reached such a high level of proficiency (through practice) with their iron-sighted handguns that the only way for them to improve their performance is to use optics.  I am not one of those people.

On the other hand, it's your money.  Not for me to tell you how to spend it.
