Officer Daniel Harless, loves his dashcam a little too much,........About a year old,....but hey,...it's so good to have a jack booted thug, and a Director Of Propaganda City Council and Sheriff.

    * Some similarities to incident that surfaced last month, when he threatened to kill a concealed carry gun owner.
    * Suspect says he was “freaked out.”
    * Police chief is investigating both incidents.

That’s how a second alleged video of now-infamous Canton, OH Cop Daniel Harless, who was caught on video released earlier this month threatening to kill a legal concealed carry gun owner, starts.

In the new video, an officer who looks and sounds like Harless, can be heard threatening a group of people during another traffic stop. The time stamp on the dash cam says the video is from July 29, 2010. In it, as in the last one, the officer is upset after finding a gun in the car. Unlike the last incident, however, it’s believed those involved in the 2010 did not have a permit for the weapon.

But while the details surrounding the incidents are not identical, it does appear Harless is starting to show a pattern of losing his temper when it comes to arrests, and even recycling some of the same death threats.


“You fu**ing move and I’ll shoot you in the head!” he can be heard yelling, which is similar to a line used in the first video.


“I’ll send you both to the grave!” he continues. “Do not fu**ing move a muscle or I’ll put you in the grave.”


“Now I’ll tell you what motherfu**er, I’ll shoot you in the face and go to sleep tonight.” Later he says, “you move and I will shoot you,“ and ”get the fu** out before I shoot you.”

Took awhile, but it looks like Justice prevailed.....at least until the decision is appealed.

Bill Adams, president of the Canton Police Patrolmen's Association, the union that represents Patrolman Daniel Harless, confirmed that city Safety Director Thomas Ream ruled that Harless is no longer a member of the city’s police force.

Ream issued a three-page ruling dated Tuesday.

"It is quite clear that (Harless') actions represented a pattern of behavior where inappropriate verbal abuse and threats of death or great bodily harm of the various complainants occurred,” Ream wrote.

"This escalating pattern of potentially dangerous behavior cannot be justified or excused and clearly illustrates the seriousness of the departmental infractions."

Another example of what I've said before...
Officers that are badge heavy eventually are told to find another line of work.  They either let their mouth get away from them and get fired or do something REALLY dumb and get arrested themselves.  The FOP (Union-D) will only cover your butt so far.  It's just sad that sometimes it takes a while and others get abused by jacka$$es like this guy.  He gives everybody a bad name, not just the cops.

He needs his ass beat six days a week for as many years as he bullied people around with that badge, so he'll have a deep and abiding reason th truly thank God for something..
He used to work in VA but somehow or another, he was let go.. That part reminds me of the Boston Diocese..

Firing him would be a good first step, then if Ohio Law Enforcement wants to have any credibility they ought to make an example out of him and charge him with everything they can using the videos as evidence.  There's nothing there to charge him with?  Really, reverse the roles and tell me how may non-LEOs would get to go home at the end of the night if they treated a LEO or talked to one that way? >:(

I did a little bit of research into this guy and he was the center of 18 internal affairs investigations. I also discovered that there is a 3rd dash cam video of him threatening to kill someone. This guy is a disgrace to law enforcement and public service.  Probably a drunk wife beater.

And folks wonder why people don't trust the police? Say what you will about lawyers or academics, but we police our own. You violate the cannon of ethics and you're done, disbarred. A professor committing plagiarism or sleeping with a student? All that tenure will buy you is a chance to resign gracefully.  If cops did the same, and realized how much azzholes like this hurt them, rather than  forming the "blue wall" they'd get a lot more respect. The same could be said of doctors, Catholic priests and politicians. Just sayin'. If you are going to take on an air of moral authority rule number 1 is police your own first or no one will respect you.

Unfortunately FQ, in a lot of situations it's the union that is what keeps knuckleheads like this on the street long after they should have been fired.  In MD there is a law called the "LE Bill of Rights" that concerns how and when an officer can be investigated and charged.  Sometimes it comes down to missed opportunity.

Law enforcement officers under investigation are entitled to have counsel or any other individual of their choice present at the interrogation.

 Law enforcement officers cannot be threatened, harassed, or promised rewards to induce the answering of any question.

 Law enforcement officers shall have the opportunity to comment in writing on any adverse materials placed in his or her personnel file.

 Law enforcement officers cannot be subject to retaliation for the exercise of these or any other rights under Federal, State, or local law.

Where this causes problems is that you also have to have the Unioin Rep there too, and the schedules never seem to work out.  My wife is having trouble with that where she works.(not LE)  Somebody there shows up half the time and has other issues but nothing can be done against her since the paperwork can't get filled in a timely manner since the Shop Steward pruposely finds ways to be away from the building when the persoon that is to get reprimanded is around.

Unions are great aren't they? >:(
