Is Ruger Shipping The SR1911 Yet ?

I was checking a few of the firearms auction sites today and could not find any SR1911s for sale. I'm just wonding if Ruger is shipping the SR1911 to wholesale distrbutors or is the first run still in production ?

Sportsman's Warehouse in Southern Idaho has had and sold two of them - I never got to see them but a guy I shoot with works there and said they lasted no more then 30 min on the pegs.

They do not know when and how many the will get from Ruger - but have an open order for "more"

It's like the Remington R-1. It will take 6 months for the supply to catch up with the demand.  Bill T.

My friend had to wait five weeks from the time he paid the deposit on his SR. It shoots very well and was certainly worth the minimal wait.

It seems that Ruger and CZ like to make people wait. I got sick of waiting for Ruger to get SR1911 for us here in SOCAL so I went to CZ for a CZ97b and Im still waiting. I placed my order in June and still nothing.

I think you guys really need to reconsider from whom to order a firearm. There are SR1911's on just about every stocking dealer's shelf I visit. A friend special ordered his right after the pistol was announced. As noted above, it only took five weeks to get it at the height of new gun madness.
