And JustBill, not all parts of the country have the same kind of dealers.  There isn't one on a shelf anywhere in Memphis.  Only been a few to come through.

Ok, I'm going to duck and cover, but I have to post this. Is it just me or is that thing butt ugly? I love blued steel and walnut. I love stainless, I love polymer and finishes made up out of steaming cauldrons. What I don't like is this combination. I have no problems with the performance, I'l take folks word on that. Its just an aesthetic thing. This is a gun that I would want to carry concealed, very concealed. ;) I am wondering if anyone else feels the same way or if its just me.

I'm sure within 30 minutes, I could get more.When I bought my Kel-Tec P3AT, I was told by my local gun shop,.."We gotta list you can get on"....

Well, Guns America.com had a dealer in TX, with a bunch, in any color combo they sold,...Bingo,...had my NIB, KT transeferred to my local gunshop, and paid the transfer fee,....took about a week...

Davidson's is one of the largest Ruger distributors in the country, and are located right down the street from their Prescott, Arizona plant. They are still showing both models of the SR-1911 as "Allocated". Meaning, hard to get with the demand outstripping the supply. When they get them in stock on a regular basis, like they now have the Remington R-1, the run on them will be over.

All of those links say out of stock or backordered.  You didn't find anything in stock.  The demand on the SR1911 is greater than supply right now.  It will catch up in a few months though.

Actually I thought it looked striking....but something seemed "odd" about it.  After looking at it a bit I think it is that it looks upside down to me.  Most stainless/blued(black) guns have the frame dark and the slide light.

The Ruger logo on the grip of a 1911 does seem "at home" to me...even if it has been long in getting there.  Don't like the diamonds on the grip though.
