Soooo, reading through this thread. 1911's are for those who need to compensate? I've gotta admit, until know I'd never seen the full connection. And have always thought a 1911 was a "pretty" gun. By any modern standard, a heavy, over sized, less reliable, lower capacity, lower return on investment. Yeah, I'd seen all that. But had missed the "need to compensate thing".
Now I have to wonder why Ruger just decided to come out with one
a hundred years late... Whats the connection there?

Bad economy causes a loss of virility? So sales of "compensators" are up? Which would mean sales of Corvettes should be up as well. Gotta check on that one. Just thinking out loud now... Thanks for the clarification though!
