A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
« on: March 20, 2008, 03:58:00 PM »
A buddy of mine sent this.  I'm not sure if it has been posted before or not, but we need to send this to everyone.

I Thought you might find this interesting . . .

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953,
about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded
up and exterminated.
------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million
Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total
of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were
rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million
political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated
------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000
Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. >From 1971 to 1979, 300,000
Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.

------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one
million educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up
and exterminated.
-----------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century
because of gun control: 56 million.
------------------------------
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by
new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their
own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500
million dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed
robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300
percent. Note, that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in
armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the
past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is
unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of
the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was
expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The
Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians
disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens
save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect
only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them
of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'.
Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they
knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun
control message to all of your friends.

I am thankful for that history and hope that I can copy it and send it out in emails (have problems doing so with others) maybe they will get the message or start to understand what the hell I've been running my yap about.
Back up guns---Better to have and not need than to need and not have!

I can't remember the exact Japanese general whose notes came out long after WWII ended. Similar to "waking the sleeping giant", after Pearl Harbor was attacked, was a mention of a US mainland invasion in 1942. Needless to say a "wise" Japanese officer said that there would be a citizen with a gun behind "every blade of grass".

Personally that mindset, (thank you 2nd Amendment, and recent Supreme Court opinions,) keep that from ever happening.

NO ONE will EVER invade this country, for that very reason today. Our own politicians and media are a greater threat.

I'd like to thank my grandfather who gave me his Mauser Rifle he "took" in Germany during WWII. Great rifle, but the wrong ideology that was behind the soldier who first owned it was the downfall of the history mentioned by Jerry's posting.

Thank you justice Scalia, and other SCOTUS members who understand what a "well regulated militia means".

Thank you for this forum to let an American "vent" when frustrated about what happening in this country, I'm taking my son who turned 13 yesterday to shoot that 7.65mm Mauser this weekend and give some targets He**!

God Bless America! NOT GD America.

Happy Easter!

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Jerry I am not doubting you at all!!!  But are all those numbers for real?  I just cant believe it.  It is mind boggling to think that anyone could talk about gun control with those numbers.  It literally makes me sick to my stomach.

Thank you Jerry,  good post!

Yes, they are real. I'm "into" history. While I can't speak about Guatamala or Armenia, the numbers from the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany are right on what I've seen in other sources. (Gulag Archipeligo, And other books on Soviet history, plus several histories of the WWII era)
The sad part is that politicians like Pelosi, Schumer and Kennedy either don't "get it" or wish to repeat it.

I hope Im not the only one with this overwhelming gut feeling that something is wrong.  That something wicked this way comes.  I just dont understand!!!  I made mistakes, and I learned from them.  Dont pet dogs if they are not yours,  dont set your beer down at a party,  dont do anything your cousin says you wont get in trouble for.  I find it hard to believe that our leaders are so oblivious to mistakes made in the past,  that there is not something more sinister in the works.  I love my country dearly,  there is no other place I would rather be, I just wish that everyone would take the time to remember those before us and NEVER FORGET!!!

I cant remember where I heard it or exactly how it goes but,
A person is smart,  able to reason, make their own decisions, and resovle problems.
People are a finicky, panicked, bunch of rats.
