Does the X-frame ejector rod screw-in like all other Smiths? If so, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that's what happened. Just loosening a turn or two can lock the gun solid. I had to fix my FIL's M-28 a couple years ago with just that problem.

I've got a busy weekend, so I'll have to wait to try it out.

They tried to deliver it yesterday, but nobody was home.  So I changed my Friday to be here when FedEx showed up.  Driver got out of the van, and his first words were "Someones getting a new toy  "  Less than fourteen days from drop off to back in my hands, and all expenses covered by S&W!

It'll be a few more days.

Gun arrived Friday late morning, Friday evening we had fifteen guests for a semi loading party, early this morning we headed southwest 145 miles and had a semi unloading party, a little work around removing emergency items, some reassembly, and then 145 mile drive home.  Tomorrow is church followed by Friends of NRA banquet, and since I missed most of set up today I need to get there early to finish set up.

It will still be here waiting toward the end of the week when I have time to do it right
