And yes, my first. And yes, it was gentle!
Background: Our church sponsors a Men's Fraternity group every Friday morning during the school year, following Robert Lewis' program. A small group of us arrive at 5AM and cook breakfast for 60-80 of our brothers. As a reward, and as a kick off for the new year, another fellow, Trent, and I invited everyone out to Trent's family farm to do some shooting.
Trent is late 20's, married with 2 kids, and in order to get his life on a track he liked, will be going into the Army on October 11. He told me he had never shot an M-4 carbine before, only hunting guns. So i suggested I bring mine over, and the cookout/shooting thing just kinda snowballed out of that desire.
I know, I know, this thread is useless yada yada yada. No pictures yet, but here is a video of a friend of mine, one of our cooks, shooting the rifle.
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150290219473637&commentsThere were about 15 guys shooting, including a couple of our Pastors. Here's a list of some of the weapons we all shot
Moisin-Nagant
SKS
AK - at this point I noted the good Christian men all shooting these Commie guns

CETME
a couple of M-4s
Sig 556
Remington 870
.410 single shot Coast to Coast
Glock 10mm
Sig P228
a bunch of other handguns
and, the piece de' resistance
Armalite AR-50.
Very little recoil, excellent trigger, although when it went off, i remember having complete sensory overload, in part due to the debris blown up by the muzzle break, the end of the shooting mat being blown back, the loss of sight picture in the scope, and a ringing in my ears!
