I have 2 rifles capable of 1000 yd shots. I have done it with both of them. Here is the kicker. Conditions have to be pretty much perfect. Especially to do it cold bore. It also takes patience, and practice. 2 things that these guys don't seem to have. Also, it is great to be capable of making that kind of shot, however what most people have to realize, is a 1000 yd shot is not a defensive round fired. Setting up to fire an accurate round that far takes time, and planning. You don't really do it on the fly. Add that to the fact that a weapon worthy of a shot like that is going to be too big and heavy to be worth much under about 300 yds. Oh, and the ammo is really heavy!
