I pulled an Alf. Or Gunbroker is evil.
« on: August 17, 2011, 04:57:01 PM »
I have been living with Clinton era ten rounders for my G-19 quite happily. They work just fine and frankly I've always felt comfortable with 11 rounds in the gun. However, I decided I'd go ahead and get some 15 rounders. Why not? So I put in a couple of relatively low ball bids on two lots of mags. I won both auctions. Doh! So now I have more high cap perfection than any one man needs whether I want it or not. :-[ These auction sites are evil. Expect an ad in the classified section soon after I get the things. ;D

Buyer's remorse set in before you even get the mags? That is lame. Shades of the DPMS Sportical - but at least there you had it in your hands before you were willing to cough it up!  ;D

Suggestion - do not sell your mags. Keep them, use them, maybe even cannibalize them for spares.

You can never have too much perfection. Spoken by someone who has none.  ;D
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. I don't need any G19 mags or I'd make you an offer.

I was sweating out a live auction site where I've been high bidder on a 625 for a week now.  Fortunately, somebody just outbid me

I picked up the 629 from the local pawn shop.....OUCH.  Won't do that again (buy in-state).  Had to pay sales tax.  That hurt.

I might be interested in a few more 19 mags for the right price.  Let me know when they come in.

Path try reading the post. Its not buyers remorse, its just that I don't think I need nine of the things. If I sell a few it lets me buy ammo to fill the remainder. ;D

I'll parrot the "finder of Paths!"...

Keep the mags, ya never know who's going to get elected!

Remember, MA (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, Romney) has upheld the 1994 ban on magazines and CT is trying as well!

Lots of Mags are always, like Martha Stewart says,..."A Good Thing"....

[So we're hijacking FQs thread, but I have an excuse since he called me out in it.]

The Big Boy arrived yesterday.  Actually I went and picked it up.  Sales tax!  Ouch.  Always buy out of state.

For those really astute S&W fans.  It was a CENxxxx corrected CANxxxx s/n, which places it 1996.  Too new to have a pinned barrel or a trigger stop.  BUT:  Look carefully children it has recessed and unfluted cylinder!   I haven't pulled it apart to find the product code (no box/label) but it's possible it is a Product Code 103614 which Supica says only 50 were made.  That might explain the -3 made in 1989, but the s/n indicating it was made around 2000  1996

So here's Little Brother with Big Brother in the back ground

So now for a family portrait.   Left are .357Mags, from front to rear.  4" M66, 6" M686 and a 8-3/8" 686.  And on the right side are the .44 Mags.
