Tight bunch...Let's be sure to keep it that way.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Closer look reveals lack of socks....As they were a luxury item, worn on Sundays, or saved for winter.... One of my favorite pics from Life Magazine,....when going to work,....meant a wee bit more...

But they got hazard pay,...about $60 a week.

That was serious BIG $ for those days when people who could find jobs were making $5 - $10  a week.
During the Depression my Grand father was supervisor in a Woolen mill, and also wrote a column in the local paper.
He made $20 a week.

If it comes down to that, I'm going in head first.

While I respect everyone's veiwpoint expressed here, I do have an issue with "leave me alone".  I believe the reason we are in the mess we're in is because most of us were too busy worrying about if our cable reception was satisfactory rather than being concerned what our so called representatives in D.C. and our state capitols were up to. Our failure to be vigilant, not to foreign invasion, but to oversee the goings on in our governments is the issue.  As long as we could we could go about "our pursuit of happiness" is one thing, but our negligence to rein in and return the control of this country to its citizens is irresponsible.  Perhaps in some Utopia we could all live freely without worry or concerns.  As all of you veterans know more than anyone else:  Freedom isn't Free and cannot be taken for granted.  Just my opinion, I could be wrong.  P.S. Thank You All for Your Service.

That sentiment graywolf, was exactly my previous posts affirmation on the posts regarding "just leave me alone"...

While we may have wanted it to be so, our collective lives here in these United States, certainly have NOT been left alone by local, state, and federal politicians, city/county commissioners, revenue depts. code enforcement, HOA's, mayors, property tax assessors, utility companies, Presidents, etc,....

Now it's time to NOT leave THEM alone to continue to screw up this country.

Go to town hall meetings with your local gov't, write/email state & fed reps. & senators. Pay attention to Judges, all the way down to dog catcher.

If one thinks if I just vote for the other guy, I'll be left alone,.....those days are over......The reset button gets pushed the way intended, by active participation and an informed electorate, or by the fail safe method also provided by our Founding Fathers, when all other methods have failed.
