Before we get too far from the OP, would some of the anti-FQ brain trust out there explain the me where Russia will come up with 65 billion to do this tunnel? I am under the impression that Russia has not recovered their economy enough to attempt something like this. Perhaps they will become another debtor to China? That should make BHO feel a lot better.

GazProm, the state energy monopoly, is supposed to be the biggest single energy provider in the world. Their pipelines run from the Afghan border to the far North, and from Siberia to Scotland.
They are the primary supplier of fuel to the entire former Soviet Union and Western Europe.
They are up to their azz in cash.

Maybe this is why they are looking at a tunnel to AK, they can just drive the loaded crude filled trucks back to Russia.

Build a tunnel through the most geologically active (earthquake, volcanic, RING OF FIRE) region on the planet. Yeah that sounds like a gubmit project. I'm sure the US will want to throw some cash in too. Think we could float a loan?
