A man tried to hold up a gas station in San Antonio Sunday night with a hammer disguised as a gun. He didn't count on a customer having a real gun and shooting him in the buttocks.

According to a report from My San Antonio, police say 35-year-old Dustin Darsp walked into the gas station with the hammer wrapped in a black cloth.

“He carried it as if it was a gun and pointed it at the clerk and the customer,” San Antonio police Det. Roberto Bernal said. “He wanted them to believe that what he had was a gun.”

Police say he grabbed a box of the synthetic marijuana K2 and walked out.

However the customer with the gun followed him outside.

“The robber still wanted the guy to believe he had a gun but ended up dropping it,” he said. “And as he was going to reach for it, the (customer) shot him in his left upper buttock."

Darsp is expected to recover from his wound. It's unclear what charges he will face.

The customer, whose name was not released, is not facing any charges.

“According to Title 2, Chapter 9 of the Penal Code, you can use deadly force to protect property and prevent the other’s imminent commission of robbery,” Bernal said. “So he’s covered under that."

Why do I think the robber might have been smoking some real marijuana before the crime? What part of "Its Texas outside you dumbass" did this guy fail to get? I mean seriously, trying a holdup with a hammer in Texas, that's just begging to get shot. ;D
