If I used to be an alcoholic but I'm not one now, does that mean I'm no longer disabled?
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Letter to Alexander Hamilton, Friday, May 02, 1783

You still are, you just don't drink any more.
But the underlying condition is still present, so you would still be considered disabled.

Its always been a disability and people get SSI disability pay for being an alcoholic. I deal in finance and you wouldn't believe the checks the GOV. are handing out for certain disabilities.

Dont tell but Im gonna make it part of MY retirement  ;D

This lights the fuse on my tampon on two seperate issues:

1)  REQUIRING that this company put a potentially drunk driver behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler (What could POSSIBLY go wrong there?)

2)  I couldn't get SS Disability for shit that can (and probably one day will) kill me.  But if I were an alcoholic (or, as they stated to me during my case, depressed) I'd have been approved the first time around?

Scuse me for asking, but..........................................
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

Exactly right.
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.
