My Old Man, Talk About Shock & Awe,, New Mustang In The Family
« on: September 09, 2011, 04:09:52 PM »
I am truly shocked at was waiting for me when I got home. Like Really, Really Shocked!!!

Backstory, I was in N.C. for Labor Day at my step-daughters wedding. Met my Father for lunch with my son who lives there also. He was "bitten" by his 1993 Colt Mustang on the top of his hand two weeks ago at the range. Nothing too serious but a bite from the slide.

*He bought the Colt NIB in 1993, and has fired 1 box through it.*   He is not really a "gun" guy, and likes his S&W snub better.

I, being such a good son, ::), offered him my Walther PPK/S in trade, which is in near mint condition, albeit fired more, and had the recall upgrade to the de-cocker, in exchange for the Colt Mustang. With the stipulation, if he didn't like it, we'll switch back.

No toes this time,...it is a Colt,... ::)

Either way, it has one mag, (need another 2 or 3), and the kicker is his letter that accompanied the Colt.

"Don't send your Walther, consider this an early Birthday Gift, Enjoy, Love Dad.".....

He is looking for something else, and a coach's gun.  ;D

I have never fired it, but it is smaller than I thought, like Kel-Tec, LCP small....

Range report soon, any advice on mags? Tips, tricks,....???

What a great surprise to come home to. Damn allergies....

Nice.....Great story also.
I sure would like to have that case it's in.........  ;D  ;D  ;D

I hope you find another nice surprise in the accuracy........I have the Gov't .380 and it is silly accurate for a gun that size.

That's one of the guns I always admired but never bought. Congrats TW.

Also, when re-assembling after cleaning, don't push too far downward on the ejector. It pivots on the sear pin and has to be pushed down just enough to clear the rear of the slide. If you push down too far, it will flip down. It is covered in the manual, but thought I'd give a heads-up JIC.   ;D

Thank you!!!! I guess this version is the "Pocketlite Mustang", as I thought this was too small for a standard Mustang.

That means it's an alloy frame, right?

ETA: Buffalo Bore makes +P ammo for it. http://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=29

Ain't no plastic/polymer on this leetle guy, the grips are, but the frame & slide is all as the manual states, Colt Blue.

Mustangs, PPK and Sig 232 all bite my hand.

It's nice to see it going to someone who will enjoy it.
