My experience with Kimber is that they're worth every penny. The best customer service of any gun manufacturer I've dealt with. They may cost a bit more than some brands but you get what you pay for in extras like checkering, serrations etc and good internals. No MIM parts in any Kimber I've seen. I own 5 right now 2 full sized LW, 1 full sized steel, a LW Pro (commander) and LW ultra (officers). They all have at least 1k rds through them, most have been through at least one tactical pistol class and none look new. If you compare my 2 carry sized Kimber's in the pic to my LW Champ Operator you'll notice which gets carried more. I still need to send the Springfield off to get the front strap checkered. I plan on having the Pro Raptor turned into a bobtail and refinished soon.

Nice, bafsu.....I'd really like one of the compacts myself.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

5 Kimbers......   bafsu, you are starting to remind me of someone.   You don't also have a long legged beautiful blonde wife who likes guns and shooting too, do you?   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Take care.   We do enjoy the information you provide.....even if we might start hating you.    ;D

Nope, my wife is pretty short with brownish-red hair and never touched a gun before I met here. She is starting to shoot a little and enjoys it so far though so no complaints. It's taken me a long time to get my collection to where I have it. I do a lot of trading which surprisingly makes it pretty easy to build up a better collection without much money out of pocket. My other 3 that aren't pictured, the full-sized one was a 5 year anniversary gift, the other was a gift from a very good friend for my wedding and the most recent was my Desert Warrior, a gift/bonus from my boss after I saved his son from drowning on a fishing trip. Obviously I plan on keeping those 3 forever. The 2 Kimber's an the Springfield in the picture were all used, although the Raptor and Springer were both very lightly used when I got them. The LW Champ Operator is my newest 1911, I always wanted one and actually traded the Custom Glock 21 I had for it a couple months ago. I got it with an extra (threaded) barrel so it's also my new suppressor host. I've only put around 400rds. through it so far but it's crazy accurate, especially with the Jarvis barrel.
