Most people would never commit a burglary, let alone one at a police station, but that`s exactly what police say happened in Divide County. The Divide County Sheriff`s Department and North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation are looking into the theft of weapons from the Crosby Police Department. A rifle, handgun and two shotguns were stolen earlier this month during a burglary. Ammunition for each of the guns also was taken.
It is obvious that with the missing MP-5 in New Jersey, the thousands of firearms that the FBI looses every year that the government CANNOT be trusted with firearms. I'm calling for all police departments to turn in their M4 and MP5 into the citizenry.

I hope they catch this crooks. For some reason criminal activity seams to be going up in the state, and with as much as the brady bunch complains about us amatures having firearms I just had to rant a little.
Too true, DR, I've seen that too. Combine a high alcohol consumption rate with some chronic joblessness among certain populations int he state, and add to it the influx of people from other parts of the country, and a decent economy that's attracting them (how many states have had a budget surplus the last four years in a row - 2007's is estimated at $600 million). Mix in for good measure the classic small town "I don't even lock my doors at night" environment out here, and voila - higher crime.
Still and all, not a bad state, government corruption remains on the petty end of the scale, land is still relatively cheap, the country is gorgeous (needs a few more trees here and there), and this is a shall issue state for CCW.
