If they buy them as a 'present' for you you can take them home.  Just if you go with them to buy make it look like you are advising them not choosing the gun.

I realize I am telling you how to 'cheat' but I don't think you've got any nefarious purpose in mind.

As long as you use an FFL to do the transfer across state lines you are good to go.
