This is sad on so many levels.

I'm one of the youngest people on here, and I got away with things that you apparently can't do now.  I've even been in a high school speech class where someone gave a "how to" speech on making a MRE bomb and gave an actual demonstration.  I can't imagine how that would go over 10 years later.

I can understand when stuff like this happens along with threats, etc. that it needs to be treated differently.  But in 95% + (completely random number I made up) of these types of cases, it's just kids being kids.  Law enforcement really needs to find some common sense that has been lost over the years.

Yeah, kids do stupid things, and they get hurt.  It's part of being a kid and growing up.  We consist of multiple generations and multiple countries, and we survived alright.  It ain't looking good, but maybe someday kids will be allowed to be kids again.

You just answered your own point - they are LAW ENFORCEMENT drones, no common sense required. And if it shows up, it will be brutally firmly removed from the premises.

Exactly, a "cop" would have said "Hey, cool it, the neighbors are complaining about the noise".
But the azzhole "LEO" is now bragging about his latest felony bust.

What makes it even sadder is that they were not being, in MKM's words, dumb.
They weren't blowing up mailboxes, or being destructive in any manner.

were these officers ever kids them selves

same with the shepple calling the police over it,    when do you go from being a kid and having fun to needing to put everyone in bubble wrap and mollycoddle everyone   because I never want to get to that stage.

There is no way we are going to achieve an orderly and predictable society if we allow individuals to pursue their foolish quests for excitement and wonder by allowing their imaginations run wild.  Taking risks and experimenting with anything will allow them to develop a strong individual nature and that needs to be nipped in the bud.

I wonder how much trouble those tennis ball cannons I used to build would get me into today.  I not only built and shot the things, but I would do it on the school play ground in the evening, weekend and all summer long.  I also would build them for friends, and we would shoot them at each other while we played.

LOL!  I saw that coming but it was still a good belly laugh.  But it is so sad that our kids cant conduct chemistry experiments in the back yard and our .gov crowd can send weapons into foreign countries to further their anti-gun policies.  ???
