Springfield XD extractor...
« on: October 15, 2011, 12:57:18 PM »
So a coworker of mine has been shooting Steel Challenge with his 9mm XD at our local range for the last year, about 10K rounds, and the extractor broke.  He searched all over to find a replacement and finally called Springfield to get one directly, they said NO!  Huh?  ??? He has to send his pistol back to them to get it replaced.  Anyone else had that problem?  I have an XDM 45 and will hopefully be putting more rounds downrange this next year and its my only handgun so if it breaks am I SOL until they fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a good excuse to get another gun. Just in case.  ;)

Could always tell Springfield that M&P's or the "G" guns will be on sale this holiday season....Sigs are nice too,.... ::)

If they pay the freight, I guess you have to send it back..I've heard there is a special XD extractor removal tool needed, and one can risk damage to the extractor if not using it.

Too bad they just can't send the darn part... :-\

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Now which one?  I was leaning toward the Springfield Rangemaster, the new Ruger seems to be getting some pretty good reviews as well....
Or I can take the Cylinder & Slide course and build my own for 4 times the money...
