See, prayer does work.

I did have a little scare one morning last week.  Woke up one morning and was afraid for a minute that I had died in my sleep, cuz nothing hurt.  ;D

And then you moved.  ;)  ;)  ;)

Glad you are doing much better Jay, and you have been missed on here (and by the way, I'm hanging back, as Alf said, from most of the political stuff myself).
It's good to hear the surgery helped with your pain.

Continued well wishes to you and yours!!

**As a side note, if you still have pain issues that crop up from time to time and don't want to take pills, they make a prescription-type pain patch called Lidoderm. It's a 12-hour-on-12-hour-off patch that you apply to the area causing discomfort. They have been a Godsend for me to keep from having to rely on pills.

Pain killers can be tough.  I was hooked myself for the eight or nine months I was taking narcotics.  Took me a while to kick the habit but we knew that going in so the docs helped me tremendously on that end.

Peg...thanks for that information on the patch.  I assume it's by prescription?

Correct-a-mundo.......
It is a 5% lidocaine solution layered in a flexible, self adhesive patch. It was originally offered as help for after-shingles care, but it works for a number of other ailments too. You see a lot of athletes using them. My ortho doc is a sports physician and got me to try them after I stumbled on some steps and twisted my ankle. Using the patches was the only relief I could get that allowed me to sleep.

Glad you're back on your feet again and on the mend Jay. Congrats on the new grand-daughter. You know it's your job to spoil her.  ;)

Thank you all for the good wishes. Toward the end it got to the point where I just couldn't talk to anyone or anything- I was living for that surgery date and with all the drugs it was a pretty dismal existence. Feeling kinda crappy off and on but I haven't taken even one more since three days after surgery so I'll get out of this ok.

Maggie is doing pretty well, thank you very much. She was getting a little raggedy dealing with me but now she's a lot happier of a camper too.

I can't wait to start loading again, now that I can sit. Gonna pack 'em then burn 'em, then pack some more!

...and since many of you urged me not to avoid politics...OBAMA SUCKS!
