When Ron Paul talks about the Fed, I can see the collective eyes of America glaze over; they just don't get it. For those who want a more thorough discussion of the topic, click the link below which will allow you to download (for free) a book on the subject by Murray Rothbard.

We were just discussing on another thread that the Mises organization, the source of the above link, is a some what questionable group.
Von Mises him self seems to have had a pretty good grasp of the flaws in socialist economic policy, but the group is not the man, and his views are not the only ones they express. Some of the other input into the groups thinking is extremely questionable.

Tom,
I found one of the threads you're talking about. I am not going to judge the whole bunch based upon Quaker's experience with a chapter at UVA. It would be just as unfair to libertarians if I based my impression of the group upon my interactions with Quaker on this board. Because we know Quaker is a little shaky on his libertarian credentials.....

By all means, please do your own research on the Von Mises folks and don't let my experience be decisive. I merely stated why I personally choose to be a bit skeptical of these folks. The wiki article Tom posted gives more context. A bit too much conspiracy from some of their fellows, and too much extremism on federalism and a national bank. There are also some good works produced. That said, I really would look to Liberty, Reason and Cato as better places for information from a Libertarian POV.
