Ideology aside, the tactics of camera girl were great. Lets assume its us in a protest and the cops got rowdy. (picture Tombogan being the one in cuffs, a strange thought I know, but go with it for now

).
First, she did get the whole incident on tape, maybe bad for "Tom", but good for keeping accountability. If the DA wants the tape, he has to use the whole thing. (Side note, make a copy in front of witnesses ASAP).
Second, she got the head wounds, and noted that that there were numerous officers present, all of whose faces were shown.
Third, She got the guy to yell out his name so she knew who to give the tape to.
Fourth, she was calling for other, presumably helpful witnesses to be identified before they left the scene.
The only thing she did wrong was not getting a close up of the cops badge numbers. I know that in a demonstration/riot scenario many cops tape over theirs. IMHO that should be a felony. Likewise, a cop should be required to give his badge number if asked for it. There has to be accountability, and no cop should be able to operate anonymously. If they can do that, we have no recourse to civil justice.
As others have posted, I think this video helps the cops more than it hurts them. It would be enough for me to vote guilty on a charge of assaulting an officer. Still, from a tactical stand point, it is a lesson we should all learn, as tomorrow we might be the ones on the wrong side of the batons. Just sayin'.
