Successful Hunting Trip
« on: October 31, 2011, 08:55:20 AM »
Hello all. The wife and I just arrived back from our annual trip to the other side of the state (1200 mi driven in all) Montana is a big state. We had a very productive trip this year. The wife filled two of her Mule Deer doe tags, I on the other hand was lucky enough to fill my Cow Elk tag,One MD doe tag and my Buck tag with a nice (Not Big) 4 point MD. The wife still has her buck tag and we both have a Bull Elk tags to fill and three more weeks to hunt close to home. Sorry! the only game picture I have is of the meat pole.

Congradulations!  My parents live north of Great Falls, yes in the middle of nowhere, and they usually have 5 or more animals hanging in the garage by the end of November (?)  nothing like your trip though.  Where did you set up camp?

Congrats Buckshot (and Mrs.).
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

We hunt on the Musselshell river near Fort Peck Lake . We have been hunting on the same ranch for over 10 years. Most of the game were shot on BLM land around the ranch. Most of the elk after the first shot move next door on a ranch that a outfitter leases for bow hunts and is closed the rest of the year This year I stopped counting at three hundred elk in one of there fields.

if you had fun, it was a successful trip.   ;)

I'm going pig hunting this weekend,  second time out in less then a month.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Hate is such a strong word...  But green is not my best color.
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle
