New in the stable. S&W 625 5"
« on: November 06, 2011, 05:10:48 PM »
My "really really need" list is down to just a few guns.    I am now finally able to scratch off one line on that list.

Ah, yes.  A S&W 625-2 in .45ACP.  I've had a blast with it.   I got a 50 of the plastic full moon clips to start.   Easy to load and unload.  Fun to shoot.    It's a 5" model, pre-lock of course, and the grips are just fantastic.  The strain screw was set too light for reliable ignition when I got it, but everybody in the in store just drooled over how smooth and light the pull was.  (It's not as light now, but fires more reliably.)  I've got C&S metallic moon clips and a BMT mooner/demooner on order.  (Or should I get Marshellete handing the "mooning' duties?)  Groups well and is fun to shoot.

Okay, okay, there are two flaws in this gun.

First it needs the gold bead on the front sight.  They're about $50.

Second, it's a 5 inch which is fine for IPSC or NRA, but for IDPA it's too long.  Guess I'll just HAVE to get a 4" model.

Or sell it to me! I don't plan to shoot revolver anytime soon....  ;)

Fine addition to the stable, Alf. She's a beauty, love the wood grip!  8)

Nice Alf.  Always wanted a 25 or 625 ever since I saw a 25-3 125 year anniversary Smith years ago and no money.  Did get a Redhawk in .45 though.

Yep.  Actually I have been a S&W snob for some time.  Just in the past year I'm in a position to put my pocket book where my "nose" is.

Hear that Haz?   I got revolver and CLIPS.

By the by, as soon as the next credit card cycle comes round, I'm getting the BMT mooner.  Saw one at the range last month.  Works slick.  http://www.bmtequipped.com/products.php

Let us know how the BMT works.  I could use an upgrade in my current system.
