I KNEW I'd regret that.  ;D
If you do like TAB did and put it in your signature line I swear to God I will kick a puddle up you're azz and walk it dry !  ;D
I hadn't thought of that until now. However, it has a certain ring to it. "FQ, Genius". The only problem is that Wile E. Coyote already did it first, and I might be stepping on copy right. However Wile E. is a bit of a hero of mine, as you might have guessed from my continued attempts to get you lot to see sense, so maybe I will go with it. Although I will leave Super out of the sig line. ;D

You are wrong here. I am not a genius because I coddle criminals. I am a genius because I don't want to trust the government with people's lives.
FQ13 who is glad that you have finally acknowledged me for what I am Tom. ;D

So you are telling us that your method of setting him free after a short period, even though he has proven to be dangerous, is better than keeping the public safe from his violent tendency?  You see his future years as more valuable than the lives of the victims?  As an educator you do not believe or accept the professional studies that show how violent criminals escalate through life?

Sorry to butt in on your discussion but I'm new to this. I've never posted a question before and I'm not sure I'm doing this right so please bear with me. My question has to do with the Best Defense program. I own a gun shop. Most of my customers watch the show and we have some lively discussions in the shop. A question has come up we can't answer. In one episode Michael mentioned that there comes a point when you have to decide to hunker down where you're at ( home etc.) or bug out. Bug out to where? Since most of us don't have or own a hidden secret bunker where do you go? Most of the local population is going to be thinking the same thing or raising hell like idiots cause they didn't prepare themselves ( I was on duty during the L.A. riots which is why I don't live there anymore ). So if you decide to bug out where do you go? You don't want to follow the screaming idiots . You're going to have to worry about weather ( we live in the midwest now), security on the road/trail etc., food, water, setting yourself up for the near future and long term etc. A host of things. I realize we've got bug out bags , emergency supplies ready to go etc. but the question still remains, where? Any help?

We can offer lots of help (some of it might actually be useful). But step one is to start a new thread. Go to Cafe and click on "new topic"" you'll get more advice than you wanted, but a lot of it will be good. Also use the search feature as there are existing threads on this topic. Welcome aboard.

Bugging out is a part of your planning.  You need to choose these options in advance.  Sometimes it will be family or friends out of the danger area, sometimes it will be dictated by the authorities, and sometimes it will be a secret hideaway or favorite place in the country.

Since this was a good question I answered it here.  However, I am going to start a new thread for you, and copy and past your post and my reply on there.

By the way - Welcome, and please go to the introduction thread and tell us about yourself!

A year before I bought my house a guy shot and killed a 15 year-old boy that broke into his house.  His wife woke up to the sound of their side fence being rattled several times and sent him to investigate.  He grabbed his 9mm XD, with light and lazer, and proceded to clear the house, now would be the time to mention he was a Ranger, and saw the kid attempting to climb in through the window and told him to get out.  The kid jumped in anyway and caught a 147 grain 9mm in his chest.  Once the guy was certain there were no other threats he felt the urgent need to vacate his bladder.  In the process of relieving himself he heard a pump shotgun's action being worked and his uranary stream involuntarially stopped.  He feared it was another kid coming in to get his buddy and decided to take the fight outside.  After taking several steps out his front door he was suprised to find several PD cars with lights going sitting in front of his house.  Paramedics were onsite in minutes and the kid still didn't make it.  No charges were filed against the Ranger.

Why?  5 kids stole a car, got drunk/high and ran from the cops after wrecking/ditching the car and thought his backyard was a good path to freedom.

The kid that died happened to be a friend of my fellow TKD student and had a crush on her oldest daughter.

Good kid?  Bad choice(s)?  We'll never know. :-[
