I agree Tom, had some heavy sarcasm in my reply,....

However, if the gov't states it failed, as Rush Limbaugh, and CBS news reported,...my point was I trust this gov't and it's handling of anything with a great deal of skepticism...

If they say it failed, I have doubts...
If they say it was a success, I have doubts...

That's all...The "old" way worked just fine.....Now the FCC "dictates" that control...I agree a nationwide alert system is a good thing, but than again we're talking about the BHO admin re-vamping what was already in place.

I thought of that.   ;D

Non event to to public.  Don't know why all the precautions.  Okay there's never been an across-the-nation-same-time-everybody alert, but how would the general public know?   How would it appear any different to me locally than a local/regional test?

Duh.

Will work for ammo

There has been much wailing and nashing of teeth over this and far be it from me to be a conspiracy monger but .....

Several years ago there was a movie called "Seven Days In May". A very good movie in my opinion. In the movie there was a secret Army organization called ECOMCON (Emergency Communications Control). When I first heard about this test that poped into my mind, such as it is. Don't say that is what is going on but ..... it's a thought.

Pecos who truly doesn't trust the Feds.

P. S. The purpose of ECOMCON was to seize control of all communications to allow the trashees to take over the Country.

I heard lots of build up about it, but I guess I was watching the wrong channel because nothing happened.  My first thought was that it would be a good time to plan for something big as it would initially get caught up in the "it's only test" aspect.

Alf brings up a good point.  If they didn't tell us, how would we know any difference?

Oddly enough, we just had a one channel test a few minutes ago.  Unfortunately, I was watching this time.

As a general rule, everytime the conspiracy guys say that the world is fixing to end I do three things. First I check my supply of food and water (since its still hurrican season that's a little north of three weeks worth). Second I check my ammo supply, a couple of hundred rounds of 5.56 and 9mm, and enough .22 and 12 gauge to start a war? check. I then pop a chilly cool one and shrug my shoulders. ;D

Our test here was hosed. All we got was the graphic and voice-over, but no actual test.

Then, maybe 10 minutes later, we got - wait for it - the test!  ;D

my TV just went to a black screen like when the cable goes out. When I tried to change channels to see what was going on I was on channel 1, I changed back to where I was and the pic came back. Pretty odd it would change channels .

Since the 3 minute test was yesterday, you might want to check your connections .
It may also have been a glitch with the system that caused it to reset.

One comment on the FCC/ Conspiracy angle, It didn't effect internet, or phones, so it's utility in shutting down information flow is questionable.
