Gee, some folks must be "stunned",... I however, am not.

Two National Polls Show Gingrich on the Rise, Now in Second Place

    * Posted on November 11, 2011 at 4:28pm by Tiffany Gabbay Tiffany Gabba

In a somewhat unexpected development, GOP presidential contender Newt Gingrich is now gaining momentum as two newly released national polls — one from CBS and one from McClatchy-Marist – shows the former House Speaker surging ahead to second place.

In the CBS poll, Gingrich is tied with Mitt Romney for second place behind Herman Cain.
The McClatchy-Marist poll, on the other hand, places Romney in the lead with 23 percent, and Gingrich close behind with 19 percent while Cain trails with 17 percent.

CBS reports:

The field of Republican candidates now has three candidates within striking distance of each other at the top of the list: with 18 percent, Herman Cain is in the top spot, followed by Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich with 15% each. Support for both Cain and Romney has declined since late last month, and Gingrich is the only one of the top three whose support is steadily – if slowly – on the upswing.

The CBS poll of 382 GOP primary voters was taken Nov. 6-10. It had a margin of error of 5 percentage points. The McClatchy poll of 347 Republicans and GOP-leaning independents was taken Nov. 8-10. The margin of error was 5.5 percentage points.

IMHO, I don't think Newt or Cain is un-electable. Not this time around...Stakes are too high.... The anti-McRomney voters are growing.

The RINO factor isn't going to work anymore.

Not really surprised!

All of his skeletons have been well vetted years ago!  He's an awfully bright fellow, student of history, great orator and under most circumstances would make a decent candidate.  I think his past may still come back and bite him on the butt though.

At this point, I'm not thrilled with any of them but if Newt is the guy, he'll get my vote.  We've a long way to go yet.  Once the caucus' and primaries start, it'll get a bit easier.  We may not like who we bring to the party but the party is going to happen none the less!

As a local radio host here cleverly pointed out. (paraphrasing)...

We need a street fighter of a candidate to beat BHO's Chicago Way Machine....Axelrod, and BHO's re-election team, have unlimited resources, and will tear your testicles off to assassinate your character, and smear your very existence.

Dumpster diving and rummaging through personal trash is acceptable. (ask Sarah Palin)....

So who are the GOP "street fighters"?

Cain
Newt

Romney is a Lib in RINO clothing. Folks are paying attention. (GOP voters anyway)...(not the useful idiots, and uninformed voter).

I kinda agree with this analysis. Slick Willy is the rock star of the Left. Years after Jennifer Flowers, Monica, a stained dress, a flat out lie to Congress. etc,...

Newt can hold his own with facts and history. The Dems can't utilize either to their advantage. Cain is not from politics and can mix it up just fine.

I still would LOVE to see Newt debate BHO under the lights.... Additionally, a real Black Conservative from humble beginnings, who made his name without gov't intervention, scares the hell out of the Dems....

One year to go folks.....Bottom line is BHO cannot be re-elected.

I'm surprised, pleasantly so.
I did not think Newt could pull it off, but he is the one who seems to use reasoning the closest to my own.
The one question I have is how much of it is due to Newt's increasing popularity and how much is a retreat from the other 3, dumb comments by Bachmann, brain fart by Perry, and suspicious accusations against Cain.

For one of the reasons I would never vote for John Edwards, is the same reason I will never vote for Newt Gingrich.

I know I can hear it now, his ex wife was a bitch and so that makes it OK. But it doesn't make it OK in my book. I think he is the most dangerous candidate of the bunch. If you like the whole idea of global governance, then Newt's your man.

Keep in mind he pushed NAFTA through with Clinton, which helped kill alot of the manufacturing industry in this country. It all sounded like a good deal at the time, but it wound up being a raw deal for the American worker in manufacturing, just like Ross "Hand Grenade with a Bad Haircut" Perot said it would.

Who, TAB, should get the nod and will beat BHO?

Newt may be the brightest guy on the dais, and I kind of like his conservative credentials.  But, I have trouble with someone who seems unable to comprehend the concept of commitment.  It's just not kosher to cheat on your wife.

I have a similar problem with Huntsman.  He went to work for Odamna, then quit to run against him.  I have always believed if you work for someone, you WORK for them.  Of course, I have other problems with Huntsman, too.

At the moment, I am still hanging with the Hermanator.  If the charges against him turn out to be true, he will lose my support.  But at this point, I think this is classic Dummycrap character assassination.

All these accusations against Cain are coming from the Chicago area which raises major red flags.
By the same token much is being made about Perry's brain fart, while no one mentioned the clips of Obama losing his TelPrompter  becoming incoherent.
As for Newt cheating on his wife ?
Who gives a sh!t ?
I'm looking for a capable President, not a saint.
