I only made it to Perth/Fremantle and Hobart.

Can you define 'arrested landings'? 

Only thing that comes to my mind are the consequences of a rowdy shore leave.

I had a little less of a view from the back, but have a few passes in the front right too.
On shore, especially in Hobart, I didn't have to worry about that.  Hung out with a bunch of Taz cops who knew THE places to go. ;D

This week in 1942, American and Australian Forces fought together in a Naval Battle off the island of Guadalcanal against the Japanese.

Heavy Japanese losses, turned their offense to defense for the remainder of the Pacific War. Nov. 14, 1942.

Just some historical context to contribute to the OP.

If the Aussie's could just get better gun laws for its citizenry... :-\
