TA--DA!
« on: March 28, 2008, 11:52:33 PM »
Posted earlier on today's(yesterdays) trip to a gun type store and was really looking for something for the wife (>45 and .44 are to big and the .22 to small) so we discussed it and came with a couple of options came home told her the prices and  wound up turning up her O2 machine, Then I got on line and found a SP101 for $350.00 HAPPY DAYS. She say first thing I have to do is a trigger job for her . I wonder if she means for free?

I recall on one of the podcasts Michael said he had trigger jobs done on a few of his Rugers maybe he'll see this and give you an estimate. It won't be for free but I'm sure it won't be devastating to your wallet.

Make her pay.  They always seem to find a way to make us pay for everything they give us, if you know what I mean. ;)

Its not that hard to do (the trigger job that is) mostly jus t polishing of the internal surfaces until they look like chrome and add a spring kit. If you have a drill press you  even Jewel the trigger and hammer but you have to make sure the inside of the frame is polished as well and  that can be a bear . But I like doing the work.

Do you use a stone, file or something like "scothbrite" or emory cloth ? What grit?

400 Grit sand paper. WATCH THOSE SRINGS THEY GO ZOOOOOM! REALLY FAST! When you are ready to remove the hand  put a rag over it  and that will catch it. If you want the whole low down I'll send you some more detailed instructions. its kinda hard to send the IBOK, that's the way hes got it set so I found out after trying to send it to Jaybeth a few times ,but I found out if you join rugerfourm.com you still might be able to get it. Hell if I get this printer going I will print you a copy and just send it to you. I just got into doing Ruger revolvers but I have done a lot of work on 1911's. Rugers are a lot easier.
