LIMERICK — One person is in custody after a gun was displayed Saturday afternoon during a dispute over a parking space at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets.
Waymon Darnell Jones, 24, of the 300 block of Morgan Drive in Limerick, has been charged with terroristic threats, possession of a weapon and harassment for the incident which began when Jones allegedly pulled into a space that another driver was attempting to take, police said.
Jones, who was allegedly driving a silver Nissan, had pulled into an open parking space at the outlets stores in front of a sport utility vehicle driven by a woman. The female driver made a comment to Jones, who allegedly lifted up his jacket to show a handgun "tucked in his waistband," police said.
Witnesses told police Jones allegedly stated, "You don't want this.
Don't act stupid," or a similar statement.
The woman left the area and called police to report the incident.
Jones was found inside the outlets and was reportedly carrying a .380- caliber semiautomatic handgun that was loaded, police said. Jones did have a permit to carry the gun, police said, but the weapon was seized by police at the time of Jones' arrest.
Jones was arraigned before District Justice Catherine Hummel Fried and was given $10,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. before District Judge Walter F. Gadzicki Jr.
