Once leading in the polls, Herman Cain announced moments ago he will suspend his campaign for the Republican nomination. More to follow as this story unfolds here and tomorrow in print editions of the New Hampshire Sunday News.

Just watched the live announcement.

Either his wife is a saint or a great actor!  She stood behind him with a smile on her face, applauding the whole time!

The damage is done, whether founded or unfounded, doesn't matter. The media anal probe for Rep. candidates takes another one.

Unlike Dem. candidates that get a pass. Maybe he should have consulted Slick Willy or James Carville for PR and damage control in the beginning.

Hi;

     Regardless if he had a good chance of getting the nomination or not, this goes to show you just bad the political fighting can get. Everyone has "skeletens" in thier closet, but after many,many years later - all of a sudden people come out of the wood work?

     Some of my formers girl friends would like to have a field day with me if I ran for anything, and it would be just like today - her word against mine.

     I was a Ross Perot supporter and if he would have hung in there - he would have won, but he backed out also and I was deeply pissed.

My statement implied that I thought he'd done something wrong.

That wasn't my intent.  I agree with TW, he was screwed by the media and those pulling the strings of the President!

A socialist/commie black man with no record and dubious credentials is applauded by the masses...

A conservative black man with a long history of great accomplishments and a verified life-story is vilified by them asses.

We may have become "post racial" in American politics.  But the lamestream media remains "currently stupid."

A good man has been taken out of the fight.  It is a shame that this was allowed to happen.

I think a Cabinet Position would still work, Like Sec. Treas. compared to the KNOWN tax evader and current Sec. Treas. Timmy Geitner, he  could be a shoe in.

After the media hype dies down, and 2012 comes in, it may be wise to consider "a position" for Cain of some capacity, for two reasons:

1) He is still a businessman, from outside the beltway who gets it.
2) Just to piss and make squirm any remaining Dems after 2012...
