New shop stool
« on: December 11, 2011, 04:25:23 PM »
This has been something that I wanted to do for about a year or so but I never had time to do it until now.  I had an old base that I was going to use but it wasn't in the best of shape so I bought a new stool and just used the base and framework and the rest was done by me.  The design on it was from a motorcycle seat I made a few years ago that I always liked and the back of the back I just tooled to look like wood planks. The lacing on both is the Mexican basketweave, bottom is 1/4" top is 1/8".

Thanks for looking

Thanks guys. I think my favorite part is the back of the back rest which was just something random I put there to make it look better. I'm definitely going to revisit that wood floor for something else.
Unfortunately the stool is a little to high for my bench and sewing machine so I may have to cut the legs off a bit but we are trying to get a new shop so this might work there so I'll wait before I cut them.
