Ol' deepwater rode his fancy motorcycle down to my neck of the woods for the weekend. Complete with FAL protruding, yet incognito, from his bike bags. Spent the weekend eating, drinking, shooting, than more drinking, some great conversation, a few classic movies, and more drinking, and eating.

Amongst the various hardware, the home brew, adult beverages, and company, brought down here were truly top notch.

First off,

Thank You Haz, for the Ruger loaner, and home brew. The beer is fantastic, (don't change a thing), and for some range time with that Ruger Blackhawk SA bad boy. It is truly a sweet pistol. ;D
Thank You Crusader for the snub time,...although full house .357 loads are best left for a true Zombie Apocalypse. :o

And finally Thank You deepwater, Ruth and I truly enjoyed your company and range time. You are welcome anytime, and are a true friend and good company. I'll get another fridge next time,.... ;)

If there are fellow members of DRTV close to you, give them a shout, meet at the closest range, and/or saloon/diner,..etc...

There are some great folks here, and I hope to get up to Haz's neighborhood next time....Especially for the next hog calling.....

Merry Christmas and Stay Safe...

Tom W.

TW,
thank you for the invite and the good times. will be heading for New Mexico here in a few days, (if the weather doesn't get too snotty) so if anybody else is on the way (Southern route) give me a shout.

Safe trip deepwater, enjoyed spotting for you on the Osama target, and getting your scoped FAL on target....That is a fine rifle,....we'll just skip the SP ammo, and stick to milsurp/milspec stuff.

Those poor bowling pins never stood a chance.  ;D

Stay safe on the southern route, reciprocity got you covered for CC all the way, except California...go figure... ;)

Can I order a case of the home brew from Haz? 8)

thanks bud, and as far as the brew goes.... it's easy to do and cheap. easier to do at home than to pack back and forth from coast to coast.  ;D also gives you the chance to brew whatever flavor you like. create your own recipe if you like. as for the other stuff, I'll bring some next time I'm in the neighborhood.  ;)

Man, if I didn't know you two were happily married I'd suspect a bit of a bromance brewing!

 ;D ;D

Just kidding fellas, glad you had a good shoot/dinner/cocktail hour over the weekend.  I have the Bogan near me but I don't know that we'd have much range time with all the hangman nooses that need tying!  Besides, neither of us can afford any ammo since we're both seeking employment at the moment!

I'm just jealous... ;) ;)

I'll say this Timothy, bottom line,....There are truly good folks here at DRTV. Folks I welcomed into my home, and folks that would do the same for me.

Folks here that would stand a post, have your back, and not let you down.

That is something rare nowadays. As proud infidels, we ate bacon, smoked cigars, and destroyed bowling pins at the range. I'm raiding Ft. Hazcat next time.

Hope you get the chance to have a meetup with Tom. FQ avoids my numerous invites, but he does live in Palm Beach County,... ::)

You know darn good and well, your ammo account is covered....if you need some, just let me know...I've put some back over the years.

this is just the .45 "pile"..... ::)

Hey Tim, On the plus side getting up here would be cheap, you could hitch a ride on one of the Black helicopters.  ;D

True, I'm only about 10 miles from Ft. Devens (or what's left of it!)!

Deepwater, as you know, we are doing the "southern route" at the moment.  Right now we are outside Fort Stockton, TX and it is 55 F.  Of course, it's the crack of o'dark-thirty, so it should be cool.  We have come through a lot of rain--something they rarely see in TX, but there's a load of it this trip.

If you see a large RV attached to a red JEEP sitting alongside the road, broke down, or in flames, it's likely us.  Stop in for a drink or a wrist-slitting party or something.  This has been a heckuva trip thus far.

And Tom, glad you enjoyed the snubby.  I think it's a fantastic carry piece, but it bites my middle-finger second knuckle so hard I can't enjoy shooting the thing.  It's been at least 6-months since I had it at the range and the finger is still a bit sore.  Fortunately,I have its bigger brother and it's different enough that it makes shooting sheer joy.
