The Monty Python Defense.

The Monty Python defense. My goodness. Joltin' Joe Lieberman announces a Senate Homeland Security investigation on F&F "inter-ageny miscommunication" and the head of Border Patrol runs away the very same day.

Folks, just received this statement by email:

Statement from Alan D. Bersin, Commissioner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Earlier today, I notified the President of my intent to resign as Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection effective Dec. 30. I have expressed my deep gratitude and appreciation to President Obama and Secretary Napolitano for the opportunity to have led such an exceptional organization and for the confidence they have shown in me.

My service as Commissioner has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my public life. I am immensely proud of the significant and meaningful achievements we have made on our borders and at our nation’s ports of entry over nearly two years. Through innovative solutions and strengthened partnerships, we have measurably strengthened border security, enhanced our ability to prevent potential terror threats, streamlined the entry process for lawful trade, and expanded our trusted traveler programs.

These extraordinary accomplishments are the result of the unstinting dedication, professionalism and sacrifice of the men and women of CBP. It has been my honor to serve with them and I depart with full confidence that they will continue to secure our borders and foster the lawful exchange of people and goods with vigilance, service and integrity.

Well, I'm sure that has nothing to do with Joltin' Joe Lieberman's new investigation into inter-agency miscommunication in Fast and Furious. Naw. Musta been one of them killer rabbits.

Hmm.....kinda ironic,....IMHO, 2012 should involve some criminal indictments into F&F, and go all the way to the top.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

I don't want indictments. I'll just hope for a change. Gone is good enough for me.

So was Iran Contra and outing Valerie Plame. What came of those two? Convictions that fizzled and a waste of money and lot of bitternes on both sides. There is also the fact that while FF was utterly boneheaded, its not something that I would want the government to be absolutely prohibited from doing in say, a counter terrorism capacity. This was a particulary galling case because not only was it run by Maxwell Smart with a supporting cast of the Keystone cops, but they are trying to take our guns while giving them away to the cartels. The hypocrisy is sickening.  It would be satisfying to see Holder in jail. But we both know that he'd serve as much time as North or Libby, and if it made the legal department at the CIA afraid to use a similar tactic in a competant manner, I'm not sure it would be worth the cost. :-\

Treasonous? I don't know. This was and is a case of disobeying a federal law. If one of us were to do that we would be prosecuted and convicted of a felony. All that has happened so far is a trumped up Congressional "investigation" and a couple people lost their jobs. That Ladies and Gentlemen not treason but a TRAVISTY. I want that felony conviction.

You are both wrong.
From FQ it's no surprise.

Running guns to someone that then invaded us and killed a border guard doesn't count?
