Its midnight give or take. The Iowa results show Romney and Santorum tied at 24.6% and Paul coming in third at a little less than 22%. Paul needed a convincing win. He didn't get it, game over. What is interesting, and frustrating for me, is that the religious right seems to have abandonded Perry and rallied behind Santorum, my least favorite candidate. I was ready to write the guy off a couple of weeks ago. Now,if he doesn't get humiliated in NH, and can come in at least second in SC, he's still in the hunt. That said, Iowa gave Huckabee the nod in 2008, and that went nowhere.  But if Santorum can pull support in SC and carry that into the Bible Belt on Super Tuesday? Well, it could be interesting. Gingrich was at something like 13%. That's not surprising in a caucus state, but he damn well better show something in NH or he has problems. Its been an interesting night.

Based on your other posts, I thought Bachmann was your least favorite candidate? Or was it Romney? Maybe Newt? Seems to change with every day.

Paul coming in 3rd is not good for him, especially since Santorum came out of nowhere and took 2nd. But the others are right, this is only 1 caucus, and not a particularly telling one. It's just publicity for the winners.

Turned on the TV as dinner time has arrived.  WGN is on, and a self important talking head is ranting money, money, money, electability, electability, electability ...  What core values and beliefs translate into electability?  And, based on reports from past elections money translates to ads, posters, yard signs, etc., and each yard sign is worth x votes.  Any nation that elects officials based on yard signs and bumper stickers deserves what they get, and they deserve to be named France or Greece  >:(

Tee hee.  Last night was a victory for Ron Paul, despite establishment shenanigans intended to thwart him.  He got the same amount of delegates as Romney and Santorum.  One thing last night tells us is that 75% of Iowans don't want Romney.  I believe Santorum didn't even get on all the ballots, putting him in the same boat with fellow chickenhawk Newt.  Never underestimate the abject stupidity of the 501(c)(3) corporate religious brainwashing victims when it comes to voting.

Take a look at the clip of the soldier that was cut off by CNN's "technical difficulties".  http://ronpaulflix.com/2012/01/soldier-cut-off-by-cnn-invited-to-speak-by-ron-paul-jan-3-2012/

Also, here is a great clip from earlier this morning:

I think most of what Mauler posts about Paul is a load crap.
But no matter who you support you have to agree with the above quote.

There are nearly 2 million registered voters in Iowa!  Maulers statement means nothing!

It's shameful that only 122K of the nearly 2 million voters turn out considering they can change parties during the caucus evolution!

Mike Huckabee won the Iowa caucus (handily) in 2008......and we see how that turned out......still a little early yet, yes?

Romney picked up a heavyweight endorsement today.  That's right, the 2008 loser threw his less-than-formidable weight behind Romney.

I'm still writing in Bogan in the general election.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

If Bogan gets into the White House (elected into) can he then say he wants to kill the President  ::)
