Newt 2012 ?
« on: January 04, 2012, 06:33:32 PM »
I just met Newt Gingrich.
Previously I had been rather blase' about him, "Better than Romney".
Now however I fairly certain he is indeed the best choice, He had several several items about the economy that, as he said, were not theories, they worked under Reagan and even under Clinton.
As for Iran he pointed out that we beat the Soviet Union by opposing them diplomatically,
He mentioned the team of Reagan, Thatcher and the Pope. Even though a lot of people died in Afghanistan, none of them were Americans.
He also mentioned vocational retraining for the unemployed, and increased medical care for veterans.
He described our choice as being between Obama the Welfare check president, and Gingrich, the Paycheck President.
I will be voting for him in the primary Tuesday.

I'm glad to hear it.. I've been unable to just walk away from Perry, because I just like the man.. I think Newt would be a very good President.. If he is the "Non Romney", I would be more than thrilled to vote for him, (then watch him like a hawk on the 2A and globalism).
On a non-related note, I would LOVE to see Newt (or Perry, but that won't happen) take Romneys well groomed hat and hand it back to him in about five pieces..
With friends like these, who needs hallucinations!..

That would definitely be Newt !  ;D

He said one thing he strongly differed with Ron Paul on was Iran.
"We absolutely can not allow them to have Nuke weapons."
"If a person is willing to strap on a bomb climb on a bus, or walk into a building and blow himself up, what is he likely to do with a nuke ?"
On energy, I know some disagree with his ideas, but he said "No American President should ever again bow to a Saudi King."
That philosophy legitimately  justifies some of his less popular proposals .
Another issue he addressed was that 1 man can't do it, 547 people can't do it.
It will require the millions of people in the population to work together to achieve these goals.
One thing I noted, he is not a fat little dough boy, he's just wide. If he turned sideways you could pass him in a doorway.

After Newts speech my cronies and I gathered at the Coffee shop to discuss it and wound up talking to a reporter from the NYT  ;D

I stayed relaxed and eloquent while I voiced my opinion of that lying POS Romney, but the reporter had been listening to us for an hour or more before that so he got an earful  ;D

I have always liked Newt. He does have some skeletons in his closet, but who doesn't. The man has some really good ideas, and knows what he is talking about. He has the historical perspective to make the right decisions, and the speaking ability (without a teleprompter) to convince people. Not sure I want him in the top spot, but VP or Chief of Staff would be a great place for him. However he has my support if he gets the nod, since my man Col. West isn't in the race.
I am a member of my nation's chosen soldiery.
God grant that I may not be found wanting,
that I will not fail this sacred trust.

He was also RR's man on Capital Hill, pushing his policies through well into the Clinton era.

FQ must be on a bender as he has not yet commented on this thread. I expected that the moment Tom posted it!  ;D

For me, Newt is tolerable, but then I think every candidate has already sold their soul to stay alive and in office. Newt is no exception.

Newt intimidates the establishment, even though he was part of "it". At the NRA Convention in 2010, he simply applied historical context, and applied it to modern politics, with a huge dose of COMMON SENSE....OMG!!!!! The thousands in the arena "got it"....

The rampant waste, incompetence, power, and pork hungry asshats, of both parties, don't want a "boat rocker"....

I would like to see if Newt supports auditing the FED, I know he stated he would fire Bernanke, but the Fed has a systemic immunity that needs to be rattled.

Now the MSM mantra is "Angry Newt"......GOOD. Someone needs to be downright pissed at this point, and the windsock Romney, reminds me of Chamberlain....

Bottom line BHO has to go....but who takes the helm for this country needs to shake things up...like big time...Not just spout rhetoric..and BS....

In a similar way, Donald Rumsfeld was never intimidated by the MSM, used to enjoy making them look stupid, and used common sense answers to leave them dumbfounded....

Newt has that quality, and frankly the MSM and the Lib sheeple deserve it....Just to see Debbie Wasserman Schultz, aka Pelosi Lap Dog, squirm, bit**, and cry would be worth it.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

No disrespect to the OP!  Newt used to piss me off and still does to some extent but that doesn't disqualify him either.  Newt will make the pissant in the White House squirm with his ability to debate a topic to completion and give the lefties a fitful nights sleep!

Bobo the clown he ain't but whomever has the nod come convention time will get my undying support!

Give us 2012 and you'll be my hero Newt!

Lose it and you can become the President of Narnia for all I care!  Your name will be "Mudd"!
