Wolf Killed near Alberton Montana
 2012-01-02

Rumor has it that this 119 pound wolf was shot near Alberton MT. The hunter had the wolf on the front of the Jeep while he parked it in Missoula some folks were not to pleased by this as they drove by. Then he left it on the Jeep and drove down to Hamilton to collect his $100 from the Ravalli County guys.

One of my High School classmates works/volunteers at a wolf sactuary or something similar and she gets in her moods on Facebook.  There is a reason they were/are shot on site-SSS (Shoot Shovel Shut-up).

As with varmint hunting, I like wolves better than I like many people I have met.
But on the other hand I realize that my livelihood does not depend on live stock and  those who do may have a differing, and equally valid opinion.

Edited to add :
That's one BIG freaking wolf !     :o

Missoula is the most liberal city in the state. It's also a college town ( Lawyer school). They fought tooth and nail to save all the wolfs, so seeing a dead wolf on the front of the Jeep probably made them cry. :'(- ;D ;D ;D

I, too, like wolves better than many people.  Trust the wolves more, too.

But they would not be welcome near my livestock.  SOS

Hope he didn't have to drive too far, That wolf is blocking the flow of air to the radiator.

They've totally ruined elk hunting in many places out west.  I hunted in the Sawtooth Wilderness and there were lots of elk.  I went back to the same place the next year and we didn't hear a single bugle, didn't see any fresh sign.  It might as well have been a nature hike.  That was about 5 years ago.  We talked with a lot of the locals in Idaho City who were pissed about the whole thing.  I think we should start feeding the Feds to the wolves.

I don't see why they are so upset about him transporting the wolf like that?

I can plainly see snow in the back ground so that wolf is not going to interfere with air flow to the radiator in that weather.
