I guess being well trained really isn't good enough....and I even SEALS have stupid moments.

Not the way things should go for our SEALS.

A Navy SEAL was fighting for his life late Thursday after accidentally shooting himself in the head while showing his gun collection to a woman he met at a San Diego bar.

If he had shot himself in the head that was doing all of the thinking at the time he would have been a lot better off.

I guess waggling your trigger finger and saying "This is MY safety" isn't so cool after all.
Considering that SF "operator" Barry Sadler shot himself in the head handling a loaded gun in a moving vehicle I would say basic safety rules apply to "secret squirrel super ninja operators" just as much as to us mere mortals.
1 ALL guns are loaded, ALWAYS
2 Never let the muzzle point at anything you don't want holes in
3 KEEP YOUR DAMNED BOOGERHOOK OFF THE BANG SWITCH
4 Be sure of your target and background only applies to intentional shooting rather than general  handling of "unloaded" guns
Did I mention ALL guns are ALWAYS considered "loaded", and KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER ?

Yeah, #2 is hard to observe at a crowded gun show.  they would have to be displayed muzzle up to have even a chance of working...and that is assuming you WANT to destroy the roof of the place  ;D ;D ;D ;D
