saltydogbk,

Vote!  Don't look at the parties or who the media says the winner will be or who you should vote for.  Look at the record of the candidate and their explanations of that record.  Then vote for the candidate you want the most.

From now until the election let the parties and candidates know what you want, after the election make sure those voted in know what you want and why, and never back down from your principals!

I live in a state with an assault weapon ban, New York.  I will NOT be able to vote for Romney.  If it's him or BHO, I will not vote.  That or third party.  IF Romney wants the gun owners vote, he needs to address his past, and make a pledge for the future.  I emailed his office not once, but three times asking his 2A stance, and have yet to get an answer.

Salty, here's a deal.

I'll forgo voting for the Libertarian Candidate, as I do most elections to reduce the parties ballot access hurdles next election, and vote for the Republican Candidate, whoever it might be, to do as much as I can to ensure we don't have another BHO term.

If you aren't going to vote against BHO, you can vote Libertarian and give them that needed help.

Deal?

I'm not "dumping" the NRA.. If I don't get loud when needed though, they do seem to respond the way Congress critters do.. It wasn't till a Nevada FFL promised every membership in the State would be turned in till they backed off of endorsing Reid though.. The ILA can be worse than tone deaf at times.. They always come off with that "but you don't understand how it works" line that sounds like Obamas wife did this last week, talking about folks not realizing how grateful we should be...
No comparison beyond that. Don't get rattled.. That part of the PR effort sounds alot alike sometimes.. That's all..
To the degree that they can intimidate a Member of Congress into not going off the rails it's a good thing..
Seeing that they haven't put any skin in the game to this point tells me that they will "get in line" come about June, telling me what everybody else in the Moderate Media tells me, at which point, I'll tell them again what I just said here.. Silence in the first part will cost them dearly in the latter end..

I'm going to echo what Tom said about not voting for that POS Romney.  At least in the primaries.  If he gets the nomination (and I suspect he will) when I enter the voting booth for the general election  will hold my nose and pull the lever.  At that point in time, my only hope will be that he can win and actually slow the descent of our once-great-nation.

I already know what Odamna has done and I think I have a handle on what he wants to do.  I am convinced that we cannot survive as the United States of America if he gets another term.

I think we could get through 4 years of Mitt--even though I think it would be pretty ugly.  The guy is no friend to gun owners.

On the NRA question--that's kind of like the Mitt question.  It's kind of like all we've got.  Yes, I know there's the SAF and I am a member.  But they're small potatoes in comparison.  So, I hold my nose and send in my NRA dues.

Why hasn't the 2nd Amend. been brought up at ANY debates,...(how many have we had now?)....Just the MSM tow the line social issues to avoid the financial policy screwed up and FUBAR'D, with BHO....

Where is the challenge to Romney? Newt spoke at the NRA convention, and received standing "O"'s, instead he's burning a bridge with the Bain Capital angle....

In SC, and FL, if Newt would just keep it real, using Romney's own words, he would influence more voters than turn them off, and let Romney slide to the nominee....

It's a rigged game,....with assahat's running the show,..... for US the actual voters,.....to validate, and let US the voters, feel privileged in voting for who was pre-destined to be the nominee is a farce and a sham...

Wait til BHO start spending his Billion dollar war chest....

I think nobody wants to do the 2A thing (except Perry, who is glad to make it plain) because they expect whatever they say to be used as a hammer in the general, like abortion has been treated for so long by thier respective sides.
As an aside here, I really don't think Romney can beat O. I don't think Santorum can either.
I do (as I head for the door) think that Paul could beat O....  I'd have never said that two weeks ago, but if what everybody says here is true and will lock arms behind the eventual nominee, whoever it is, Paul brings the MTV/Child/OWS vote with him, along with every listener to Coast to Coast..
Chew on that one for a while..

I've posted before that Paul isn't BO which means if he got the nomination I'd vote for him.
Besides, it would be fun watching "the establishment " freak out.  ;D

If Paul was elected and just 25% of what he wants to get done did, with the other 75% including the off the wall stuff left out in the Rose Garden, the country would be a much better place.

Just a reminder  . . . .

From today's MB Blog (http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2012/01/great-read.html):

The election of 2012 ain't a conservative popularity contest. It's a war to, first, last, and always, destroy any possibility of a second term for Barack Hussain Obama.
