Saw the ad in a gun rag and looked it up.

I've toyed with the idea of machining a barrel sleeve over the years for straight-barreled rifles, like the Mini-14, as a means to increase barrel thickness for both heat dissipation and rigidity.........
I can see where this would improve over a sporter contour barrel, but at these prices, wouldn't a new barrel be better? Heck, for a couple hundred more, you can buy a whole rifle with the varmint barrel......but I guess it depends on the rifle brand and subsequent price...... For example: a $2000 Weatherby might benefit, whereas you could buy a complete Savage rifle for the price of the sleeve.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I watched the video, and it explained a lot about sleeved barrels and the graphite barrels I have seen in the aftermarket.  Can't say as I disagree with his selling points, but like Peg said - I can buy a new Savage with utility optics and sling for the cost of their system.  And, with an out of the box Savage and utility optics I have far better tool than shooter  ;)

I would like to hear from some long range shooters and bench rest guys about how this fits in their games.
