looks like you won't need to keep any of your "bird" recipes any more.

That's one bad-mother-plucker right there.......I tell you what.........  ;D

On a serious note, my younger son says they do a real good job on ducks also.

He used the Black Cloud.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

yep, anything with the flite control wad is pricey though.

that is basically a normal shotgun wad (aka shotcup) on the left.

and unfired flite control wad in the middle

then a fired and recovered flite control wad on the right. NO! It is not upside down.  those flaps are meant to be on the bottom of the flite control wad.

since the flite control wad doesn't have pedals to peel back on it like a normal wad, the shot pellets and the flite control wad stay together for a longer distance/longer time period once they exit the barrel.  so it patterns really tightly and I think it gives you a bit more range too.

my original post here with the before and after pics was based on my pheasant hunting experience on Sunday.  as the Federal rep told me as he was trying to sell me on this high dollar Prairie Storm ammo, "you should let the pheasants get out a little farther before you get on the trigger".

So, it will act more like a slug until drag pulls the wad off....

Sounds like it would have applications as a SD round.

I guess it sure might.   Depending upon how soon the wad separates, it might work like the Glaser Safety round. ...  as the wad hits the target, the shot charge would move forward...sort of like the muzzle was against the target.

Very little of a slugs chance of over penetration..if the target is hit or missed...

My thinking exactly, you could use smaller shot to help mitigate the risk of over penetration, but still maintain a lethal concentration of lead over a greater distance.

wonder what would happen inside an auto if a window was hit with the load still in the wad.

We need to stop talking about it or they will be banned.
