How Long Before Assad Joins Gaddafi ??
« on: February 06, 2012, 04:26:10 PM »
I just don't understand these wealthy dictators. This clown is going down just like Gaddafi did. It's only a matter of time. He could easily stop all of this, skip town with a few billion, and live most anywhere like a king, instead of dying like an idiot. Saddam, Mubarak, Gaddafi, and now this idiot. They just don't know when to quit.

The military in Syria is not breaking ranks as they did in Libya, and joining the "rebels"....The citizens are mostly disarmed and are at the mercy of the full force of the Syrian troops.

An Arab initiative was shot down today with vetoes by Russia and China,....at the UN Security Council...It would have brought in ALL Arab peacekeeping troops to restore order, and tone the killing of unarmed civilians down.....Although the spin by the Syrian military is violent factions attacking,....yet smuggled videos show children and women beheaded in the streets to "remind" their husbands to STFU and stop the protests.

.....Now the sheep are left to the slaughter...

I don't see an American/NATO intervention like Libya, and BHO won't touch it (it's an election year ya' know),...Hillary at least admitted that the UN is effectively "neutered"....

He appears to be losing it fast. They reported today that members of the military are defecting to the rebel cause. Assad is losing control. This will end poorly for him.

Without international support, no country, (including ours), has the balls to deal with Syria....

Not even an Arab Coalition....

Russia and China are both backing Assad in the UN.
They are probably selling him anything he needs as well.

They have an interest in keeping him in power and the "West" is not addicted to any oil from that nation...there isn't any.  I suspect Assad will stay in power.

Strange, we aided in going after Quadaffi who some years ago fell in line and gave the west what it wanted.  Now we have Syria who really is brutalizing their citizens and nothing happens.  Methinks the mooslim brotherhood will not win this one as they did in Egypt, Tunisia & Libya.  Looks like the Russians and Chinese may be drawing the line for us when it comes to Iranian islamic satellite states.

That's today. The problem is they said the same thing when Gaddafi bounced back and started temporarily kicking some ass and retook a few cities. These things change like a fumble in a football game can end a drive. All but instantly. Russia and China are not going to get involved militarily. They're just saber rattling because they know Hussein is a weak minded pussy, and will do nothing. People act differently when they feel they no longer have a thing to lose.

The difference is that Syria has never made any attempt to cooperate with the West so BO will not put any serious pressure on them like with Egypt and Libya.
He will also throw the rebels under the nearest bus just like when the Iranian people were protesting.
BO's motto is "F*ck any friend and support any foe", Some one should make him reread that JFK quote till he actually gets it right.
This is a good example of how Ron Paul's "isolationist" FP is not practical. Even if we had a leader who would act we could not do so if we had no place to act from.
Which is what RP's policies would leave us with.

What I'm not reading here is how Assad's father did the same thing 30 years ago when a town protested.  Approxamately 40,000 people were killed on his order.  That is the path his son has chosen.

My humble prediction is to see weapons "smuggled" in to the protestors.
Russia's been Syrias ally for 60 years which is one reason why they are backing Asssad. They are also selling the weapons to them.  Cash cow.
China backs them because of tiennamin (sp?) square and the fact that the also have a large islamic population in their borders.  You know China would stomp all over them if they started anything.

Syria will turn into the next yugoslavia.
