It's a minor Air Force office; the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO). But it's who requested the removal of the Latin word for "God" from its logo that makes this move ridiculous.

    Dozens of members of Congress are upset that the Air Force has removed the Latin word for "God" from the logo of an Air Force acquisitions office.

    Led by Rep. J. Randy Forbes, co-chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, 36 lawmakers Monday (Feb. 6) sent a letter to Air Force Secretary Michael Donley and Air Force Chief of Staff General Norton Schwartz objecting to the removal of "God" from the logo of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO).

    The logo was recently removed, according to Forbes, after objections by the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers.

    Jason Torpy, president of the association, said the word "God" had no place in the logo because not all members of the military are religious. "We just hope (the Air Force) can provide more equal opportunities for atheists and humanists in the military."

    "The action taken by the RCO suggests that all references to God, regardless of their context, must be removed from the military," the congressional letter states. "We ask that you reverse this perplexing decision."

The "Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers?" What? All 5 of them? I had to double check this story to make sure it didn't originate on The Onion.

If the atheists don't like it, let them sue. Caving in to a tiny group of malcontents is nonsense. A tiny minority should not be allowed to dictate to the clear majority.

If you ask me, there is nothing "freethinking" about their request. In fact, it is closed minded, anti-religious bigotry.

The .mil, under the direct control of the POTUS, is and has been involved in social engineering since way back. Remember Truman's order to desegregate the .mil?

Under bho, gays and atheists are making huge strides in becoming mainstreamed and normalized, assuming they can ever be considered to be "normal"; and Christians are asked to keep taking it in the shorts, since we obviously don't matter anymore in the newly sponsored State-centered religion.

How long before they are going to have sandblasters in D.C. removing all the carvings from the buildings because they mention God.  How long before they attack our founding and governing documents because they put God above all things in this nation.

Or cover statues and plaques while speaking in government buildings....or perhaps Yale, Harvard and like schools that were begun as religious institutions to train Congregationalist and other clergy.  I guess erasing history is necessary so the stupid people like us "won't have our crutch to lean on".  In my mind it just boils down to them being God haters....which they are free to be because of the Christian foundation which allows them to choose their path.  

Strange, Christianity in it's teachings allows people here to make their choice and go on in life...islam in it's very teaching and foundation forces compliance and penalties in this life that include things like wife beatings, death, etc., but people want to erase Chritianity that "makes them feel bad" and they bend over backwards to accomodate a belief that's tenet's would have them executed for making fun of their precious muhammad or whatever the fake's name is.  So, if you don't want to believe in Christ and can go on in life (with the knowledge that if it's true there is judgement after death to make you "feel bad") why does that need to be erased whereas a belief that would have you killed for not believing is accomodated and praised?

Of greater concern to me is this:  How long will God be patient with a nation who disavows His very existence? 

If we as Christians believe the Biblical chronicle about the Israelites leaving Egypt, or the results of sinfulness in Sodom and Gomorrah, we can know His patience is not unlimited.

The immediate plan is to avoid standing near any politicians or Air Force officers.  The lightning bolt may not make a favorable distinction.
