Man, I we lived closer, I'd ask you to order me an Ishy. Agree with your logic, and old but serviceable optics are probably available.

I'm sure we could work it out.  On a C&R I am not allowed to run a business but I could buy a present for a friend and then transfer through an FFL.

As far as optics I would think any good smith could mount a scope.

Haz, I would get the .30 Blackhawk, Ruger discontinued them and they may get a little hard to find. I had one but sold it in a moment of weakness(Needed the money :( ) I wouldn't mind finding an other to replace it. The .30 Carbine Rifle would be my 2nd choice.

Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage. Where are we now??????

I'm definitely leaning that way cause if I don't I know I'll hate myself.

BTW I ran across an A3-03 today for 300.00!!!!!  The last idiot sporterized the stock  and tried his hand at checkering (not good), but the action, barrel and throat look great and it IS an A3-03!  (God, I hate good opportunities when low on cash!)
